Salvaging French Doors
This is a very unique set of center hinged French doors. The door’s glue joints had failed rendering it useless. The leaves were in the basement just waiting for a qualified craftsman to repair and reinstall it.
Rather than a complete disassembly and risk damaging the nearly perfect original finish, it was decided to add dowel pins to repair the leaves.
With the dowel pins in place, clamping pulled the rails and styles together .
This is the finished edge with dowel pins in place.
